For a smart building IoT project at one of London’s tallest skyscrapers, I created a visitor self-check-in system that runs iOS and Android tablets and placed multiple iPads across different floors of the building.

I integrated the system with Twilio’s API so it sends instant SMS, voice calls and email notifications to the host of each visitor informing them of their visitor’s name and their location in the building. The host is able to login to a portal via a web browser or mobile app where they can instantly create auto-expiring visitors, the portal then sends the visitor a 5 digit one-time unique code which they enter into the tablet on entry to the building.
